  Calling all Daddies.....

It's your turn !! Father's Day is June 15th.
Our Mommy says we're gonna do a Smiley Box for the Daddies of Blogville too. This means    YOU.

We don't got no Daddy but we know that lots
of lucky doggies and kitties do. So please get your Daddies to take pictures of you with them. That's a whole month away so no excuses. We'll get it added to the Blogville Community Calender soon. This Smiley Box will have 2 sections only. One for you and one for our Rainbow Bridgers.

Now that we have made that announcement Mommy is taking over. Please be patient with her cause she can be very long winded.

The Mommy here.....

I would like to thank everyone who participated in our Mother's Day Smiley Box. I could not have done it without your help and willingness to share your fur-babies.

Preparing it was very therapeutic for me. My Weenie will have been gone for almost a year soon and I have been having a very difficult time accepting that he is gone. It is especially hard around a holiday. Preparing it is what made this Mother's Day bearable. The other thing that kept me going was what I am about to tell. I'm crying as a type this, so excuse my rambling on.

On May 4th we posted this picture...........

Toby in 2009

It is of Toby, one of my boys I had to give back to DROH when I had to have emergency surgery on my knee in 2007. I have been lucky enough to stay in contact with him and his adoptive family through the years and he still remembers me and Mona even if we haven't seen him in awhile. When I decided to undertake this I thought of Toby and contacted Evelyn, his new Mommy, and asked if it would be OK to include him in the Smiley Box. Of course she said yes BUT where to put him. In my heart he will always be my big red boy but he has a new family that loves him very much. So I decided to add him in the "Our Friends and Their Mommies" section. He is there with his Mommy and his brother, Campbell, who was adopted from DROH a year after he was.

So I want to share all the pictures Evelyn sent me because I am so very happy for him am also very proud of him.

Remember the above picture of  Mona and Weenie napping together? From the first day I got my little fella, Mona knew something was special about him and was always shadowing him, making sure he was OK. It is one of  my favorite pictures of the two of them.

Toby, Campbell, and their human brother and sister.

At Christmas, Campbell had back surgery and is just now starting to walk again. Evelyn said my Toby stayed right on a pillow next to his crate to keep him company. That made me cry because it reminds me so much of Weenie and Mona.

Toby sunning himself.

He may be older and a little grayer but he is as energetic as he ever was and will always be my big red boy.

One more thing before I close this post. If anyone would like a copy of yesterday's Smiley Box or the HTML code, please let us know and we will send it to you.

Again thanks for being a part of the Smiley Box.

God Bless, the Mommy Sarah
