  March 2014 Dachshund Adoptions......

On the heals of DREAMS fantastic rescue news yesterday that Dolly's had been found, who btw was a DREAM
March adoptee, we figured it was high time, finally, to light a fire under Mommy's "you know what".  In her defense, she has been sickly much of this month, what can we say "Gotta Love Her".......Mona and Prissy

Quote of the day:

“When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.”

Lovie Update  for March
Lovie had another acupuncture session this morning. Her reflexes continue to improve. She is still not walking -- but rest assured that does NOT slow her down! She looks terrific and is a favorite at the clinic. Her foster mom reports that she is, indeed, as sweet as she looks. More therapy is in this sweet girls future, but thanks to her loving foster mom, DRoH's wonderful vets and the generous donations, Lovie's future is bright!

From Charlie's new family:

I cannot even begin to tell you how in love with Charlie I am :) He is seriously the perfect pet. Thank you so much for your love and care for all of the weenies. I look forward to someday fostering and adopting more!!!
3/01/14  Preston Pruitt
From Preston's new family:

We adopted Preston almost a week ago, but he has quickly made us feel like we have had him all along. It took him two days to warm up to the new surroundings but after that, we could not have asked for a better companion for our other Dachshund Peewee. Preston loves to cuddle up under the blankets and is one of those dogs who could literally fall asleep anywhere, but his favorite place right now is right on top of his dad's chest! When he’s not sleeping, he and Peewee are looking for squirrels and rough housing in the back yard. He has done great with his potty breaks also, no complaints there. We just want to thank Marcie and the “DREAM Team” for blessing us with such a great pup!

From Tiffany's new family.......

"We are head over heels with Pepper (Tiffany)! She is the perfect fit for our family. She is learning our routine and is just a wonderful addition. When she is happy she twirls, which is usually when she gets fed.

Buttercup and Darcy -- sisters adopted together

From Buttercup and Darcy's ATDR bio.......
Sisters Darcy Buttercup were rescued in the central Texas area near Seguin.  Both babies have been in foster care for two months and are thriving.  Both are well socialized and friendly, love other dogs and people too!  They have had two sets of shots and will be adopted after the third set of shots, including rabies, spay and microchips!

If you love the snuggly, warm feeling of a puppy, these are precious girls.  They appear to be a recessive wire dachshund - one parent may have been a smooth and the other a wire.  Darcy weighs 7 lbs and loves to be loved!  Not at all hyperactive, almost house-trained and paper-trained in ex-pen at night.  They love the cat in their foster home and play and romp together all the time.

Mona here..........I would normally not interrupt Mommy when she is doing an adoption post but I gotta tella ya that Mommy broke into tears when she saw the pictures of Darcy on the website. Mommy adopted me from DROH when they think I was maybe almost two years old. She says since Darcy is just a puppy, bet that's what I looked like. Mommy likes this ..........

picture of Darcy the best. It's our new desktop picture. What do you think? Could we be sister?
