ANGEL WEENIE'S VISIT

ANGEL

from the Bridge.

Dearest blogging friends,

Today, 3 months ago, I came to the bridge. It has been like
heaven here, but that's what the bridge is all about.
I miss all of my buddies, my beloved Amber, my Sissy Mona and most of all my Mommy.

Before I go any further I have to show you my favorite picture
of my Amber. I loved her from the day Mona told me about her. Mona always told me how pretty Amber was but I never really got to see her with my own eyes until I got here. I saw her with my heart then, but now I see everything.

Recently, I sent Amber my turtle and a picture of me
from the bridge. My Girl posted this picture today.
We would have made a great couple but it was time for me to go. It was just too painful down below and I'll be right here
waiting for her when her time comes.

You all know how much I loved my Mommy and how much she loved me. I am always with her and always will be.

The month of May was very sad for Mommy and our friends at DROH. Right after I came to the bridge her very first foster, Beckett arrived here and boy did he have some stories about Mommy to tell.

Her second foster, Nikki, was already here but it took awhile for us to find each other.

Deceased 03/03/13 Nikki had become a prisoner of her own body, both physically and mentally. Her age had taken away the joy of life for her and her vet felt that the best and kindest gift DROH could give to her was to allow her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. With the sorrow and love of her foster Mom by her side, Nikki joined her dachshund friends who awaited her there

You all know how Mommy feels about getting senior dachshunds adopted, like she adopted me when I was 9
years old. Both DROH & ATDR  have been hit hard this year, so many of our seniors are here now. Never adopted but always loved.

Marlene - May 2013
Marlene was one of our oldest and most beloved fosters (17+). She is waiting for all of us, but especially her foster mom Linda at the bridge!

Cinnamon Bun
, ATDR was saddened by the passing of one of our precious seniors, Cinnamon Bun. We estimate she was at least 15 years old. Cinnamon Bun was a sweetheart who loved to snuggle and be close to her foster mom. She was with her foster mom when she passed and now she is with all the other dachshunds we have loved and lost. Rest in peace sweet one.

Remember Tag, we did a post when he left for the bridge.

Sweet little Sugar gave his foster mom seven years of unconditional love. Most people hesitate to adopt a senior dog for fear they will lose them "too soon". The truth is - it's always too soon. Sugar, or "Shug" as he was affectionately known, spent a good part of his life as a foster. But as far as he knew, he was home. And most of all, he knew he was.

Deceased 05/08 Penny, or as we affectionately called her "Momma" died in her sleep on Sunday. We think she was around 17 (came into DROH with severe mammary cancer and bad teeth seven years ago) and had survived the cancer and many years of heart problems. It was a shock and I miss her bunches, but I am grateful she died peacefully snuggled under the covers on our bed and not in Harris County Animal Control where she was rescued from. the seniors really are the best! May her little soul rest in peace....

OK........now here is what I'm getting at. We, all us rescued dachshunds, and every other beloved pet here, are together and we are not lonely. Yes, we miss all of you but we're all gonna be together again someday.

My Mommy has lots of love in her heart to share. Have you all met my new sister, Prissy? You know I picked her out for Mommy don't ya.

Now lets talk about my Magic Bumble Bee. He was so lonely without me, so he got special permission to come to the bridge so we can be together. We all have wings, you know, but it's still nice to get on his back and fly. So don't be surprised if you look up to the bridge and see us buzzing around.

Gotta head back now. Sniff ya later......Weenie

Weenie when you see my stoopid brudder Sammer and sweet aunt trudie will you give them a big hug from me...tell them I miss them and wish they could come back to live with me, cos things haven't been the same since. Tell them mom brought home TWO devils to live with me now. Also tell sammer he is a big dummy but he will always be my favorite brudder in the whole wide world.
