HOT & BORED, MOMMY'S HOME VISIT AND FRECKLES & BROOKLYN

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Some of Mommy's beloved Hibiscus courtesy of Khyra"

The more I see of man, the better I like dogs. ---Madame Roland

Dearest Friends,

There has been so much sadness around the blogging world lately with so many doggies passing because of illness, a violent attack and murder too. We mourn with everyone the passing so violently of Doctor Dre. The murder of Bear-Bear was too shocking to believe that a so called police officer would draw his gun in a public place and kill a dog in a place where we should be safe. I hope everyone has signed the Justice for Bear-Bear petition. For more details, please go to Khyra's blog where there is a link to do just that. Mommy picked today's quote of the day because she believes most dogs are much more civilized than some humans.

Be Happy at the Bridge Dr Dre & Bear-Bear and run free!
Mommy heard something today on You Tube that made us both cry. It is called
"The Faith of a Child"
but it is so true & I wish we had the faith of this child.

Mommy is crying softly now so I'm gonna take over now....

It is too too HOT for me her in Houston. I hate the heat and Mommy only lets me go outside @ 5:00 am, when she gets up for work, do do my business. This morning it was 85 degrees and it was still dark!! Then I get to go out again, when she gets home, to do my business again. As soon as it gets dark, she lets me go outside for an hour or so but it's no fun unless she's outside with me. I just wanna run away to the North Pole. I know it's hot where some of you live, so if you wanna go with me, lets get started soon.

So what did I do most of the day? I was just so bored, so I destuffed Big Pinkie Poo.
"Yes. Bobbitt, you did and I just finished restuffing him last weekend."
"OOPS, sorry Mommy. Could you fix him for me again?"
Then Mommy cranked up the heating pad and watched a repeat of Last Chance Highway, while I did this.
"Go away, flashy beast, don't you see I'm trying to sleep here!
"Mommy, make it so away!!!!!!"
OK.....now let me introduce Freckles.

Aunt Judy, Freckles and Bratlyn
(OOPS, sorry I meant Brooklyn)

I think she gotta be the smallest doggie I've ever seen other than a puppy. Mommy said she is lots smaller than Brooklyn and Brooklyn is tiny.
Check out the comparison from  the rear.

Left to right Freckles, George and Brooklyn.
She will be available for adoption but she has a extremely severe case of the heart worms.

Mommy's turn again.....

Yesterday I did my first home visit for All Texas Dachshund Rescue and it went really well. I was very nervous but as soon as I saw the clients little wirehairs all that was forgotten. Oh my GOD!!
Look at that face. How could you not fall in love with that face, since she looks just like my little Siskle? Her name is Twiggy and she is almost 13 years old.
This picture is of Samantha & Twiggy.

Samantha (on the left) is 7 years old.

Did I approve the client? Without a doubt and the best part is, she said I can bring Mona to visit when she gets her new wire hair!!

Gotta go now. A new episode of Last Chance Highway and Pit Boss start in 15 minutes on the Animal Planet. I hope to have new pictures of Shelby tomorrow.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}}....Mona & the Mommy too!!

We are all very sorry to know that a human could actually do such a horrible thing to Bear Bear. We have signed the petition and sent off several letters of dismay at what happened and hope that justice will be served.

It is very hot here too, Mona. We just spend most of our time inside too.

Bet you can't wait to go with Mommy on that next home visit.

85 degrees at 5am doesn't sound very fun. We hope it gets cooler soon. We lost the humid air finally here in NH, it was around 75 degree today and really dry.
Have a Good Weekend.

We had a few days relief here, but the temp is creeping up again. Not as hot as TX, but too hot anyway, what with the humidity. This summer has been a bit of a bummer weather-wise in my opinion. Hope it gets cooler for you, soon.

lotsa licks, Lola

We heard about Bear-Bear. How awful. We just don't understand humans sometimes. Mom says she doesn't either and she IS a human! Oh well. Mom watched the video link you posted and had tears in her eyes. She says it is so true and so important to always remember that God has a purpose for everything.
It is very hot here, too. We mostly hang out inside and go on our walks right before it gets dark. North Pole sounds great! We don't think Mom will let us go, though!

I kept hearing that Bear Bear was murdered but I didn't know his story and couldn't find a link to read about it. Thank you for telling me where to find more information.

Freckles is a cutie! Too bad she has heartworm. I have a feeling that she's going to get adopted very quickly though!

So cool that your mama is involved so with the rescue movement. In Phoenix there is an Airedale rescue, but our condo down there only allows 2 dogs, so we are at the limit already. Nice to meet you.

I'm sending you some cool air from Melbourne.
It's great that your Mum is rescuing some doggies - if only more humans could be like her...

Oh, Mona. I didn't know about Dre. I just read his mom's note. My heart is broken for him and his family.

Bear-Bear's story is so sad. There was no reason for that dog to be killed like that. What's wrong with people, especially the ones that we're supposed to be able to call upon for help - the police?!

Thank goodness for pictures of you and your friends to help cheer me up. You're so darned cute!

It is very sad to hear about all the pups going to the bridge lately. All we can do is keep their family in our thoughts and hope they are having a great time while waiting to be reunited with their family.

Aww..what cute new friends. :)

Hi Mona,
I went to the site and signed the petition for Bear Bear!!! It should be just the same if you shot a person you get gail or are killed!! It should be the same for the dog!! You kill a dog you go to gail or are killed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The animals are just as important!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your visit!!!
