Our good friend and DREAM volunteer, Paula, lost her senior boy, Matisse, yesterday to congestive heart failure. Matisse, who was Paula's first Dachshund, is the whole reason she is involved with rescue today. Those of us who were lucky enough to meet Matisse know what a special boy he was. Run free at Rainbow Bridge, sweet Matisse. We will miss you.


DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Paula for the loss of her precious Matisse.

Dearest friends,

It was with much sadness and regret that we learned  of our dear friend, Matisse's, passing yesterday. He was a special boy and has joined is Daddy Ty in the heavens.

He was adopted from DROH, where his Mom was also
a volunteer, 2 years before I adopted Mona from DROH.

He will be remembered as a volunteer in everything
dachshund rescue related along with his Mom, Paula.

His Mom Paula said:

He collapsed yesterday trying to make it to his poo spot outside
and was rushed to the vet but he was in congestive heart failure. Vet said he never regained consciousness.. They tried everything, but severe edema and his heart was only weakening. He did not suffer.

He will be missed by all of us. My thoughts
and prayers go out to Paula and her family of rescued
dogs. I like to think that Weenie was at the gates of the
bridge to finally meet him and see him for the first time.
