RESCUE ME WEEK -- DAY 1

A RESCUE STORY:

"From behind a wooden crate we saw a long black-muzzled nose poking round at us. We took him out — soft, wobbly, tearful; set him down on his four, as yet not quite simultaneous legs, and regarded him. He wandered a little round our legs, neither wagging his tail nor licking at our hands; then he looked up, and my companion said: "He's an angel!"

Dear friends,

Today is day 1 of Mazie's Rescue Me Week. Rescue is very dear to our Mommy's heart. All of you know that Mona rescued our Mommy in 2005. DROH says Mommy rescued Mona when she adopted her but Mommy says it was the other way around. I, Weenie, didn't come along this until this year and Mommy says she can't imagine her life without me.

Mona & I are so lucky to have our Mommy but not every doggie is so lucky.

The Rescue group we want to help for today is:

THE BRAZORIA COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY AT

http://www.brazoriacountyhumane.org/

For those of you who don't know, Ruthie from K9 Katastrophie came from there.

Ruthie's blog address is http://k-9katastrophie.blogspot.com/ and she can tell you what a great place it is.

Remember this little fella? It's Barron, one of Shelby's pups right after he was born. Frankie Furter named him.

This is Barron taken not to long ago. He is now about 14 months old and he is waiting for a forever home at the Brazoria County Humane Society. His sister Megan and brother Petey went to them when Bill had to close his Rescue, Gulf Coast Bully Breed. They both were adopted and are in wonderful homs. Barron had been adopted by one of Bill's staff but for some reason was given back. We don't know why but we just know that it breaks our hearts that he doesn't have a forever home yet.

It would be so nice if all of Shelby's sweet babies had a home.

We want to thank Mayzie for having this wonderful event. She is at http://mayziegal.wordpress.com/

Sniff ya later..........Weenie

Barron is gorgeous. He is just asking to have a 4-ever home where he'll be hap-pee for the rest of his life. Paws crossed for you, Barron.

Wow! Barron sure turned into a handsome boy. We remember when Frankie named him! Can't imagine why he doesn't have his own furever home yet. We sure hope his NEW family sees this today and rushes right over to take him home!
