"The love and devotion of a dog's heart, is like non other".
My Sissy Mona several years ago...with hair.

Weenie here.........
Mommy is too upset tonight to think straight so I'm steping in to tell you about my Sissy.
She does have Cushings. It is a very hard disease to diagnosis and requires lots of testing and treatments plus special medication that has to be ordered. They just don't keep it in stock. Dr
Willey, Mona's Internest, is not ruling out a liver biopsy, but at this point doesn't want to do one unless it's actually necessary. It all makes sense now. Cushing can cause all kinds of problems with Mona's blood. Angel Samanth had Cushings and Mommy is heartbroken when she thinks about the HELL Samanthat went through. Whatever has to be done, will be done but it will be a long time before Mommy can smile again. Please keep my sister in your thougfhts and prayers.

Mommy has been on the computer most of the day reading about Cushings. It's been almost 7 years sice Samantha died and she has tried to forget. If you don't know what Cushings is here a link that will explain it: http://www.kateconnick.com/library/cushingsdisease.html

Sniff ya later..........Weenie

Please remind your mommy that soooooo much has happened in the years since Samantha had Cushings -

She's got a great group of pals and resources at her paws!

Please give both the girls in your life some snuggles from us!

Khyra is right. Great things can happen with lysodren and there is another med out there that Mom thinks was very successful in Europe and has become available in the states now. The meds are not cheap and there is the need for a fair amount of regular testing in the beginning. But many dogs have very good results once the right dosing is determined. Tell Mommy to breathe deeply and take it one day at a time. Paws crossed for Mom and Mona.

Oh Weenie....What can we say? Try to look on the bright side if there is one right now. At least Mona has a diagnosis. And the treatments must have improved since 7 years ago. Tell Mom to stop and take a deep breath and everything will turn out OK. We're sending all the good vibes we can find and sending lots of prayers too. You help Mom and Mona as much as you can and let us know if there is anything we can do. We love you guys. Give Mona an extra big hug from us and Momma too.

We are so furry sorry to hear this dianosis. Butt with everyone in Blogland thinking good thoughts and sending pawsitive vibes, we are sure that she will be all right!

Have you thought about consulting with a holistic vet? Mom switched us to a holistic vet and she just raves about Dr. King! Dr. King put us both on joint formulas for our joints (because us Chihuahuas can end up with bad joints in our old age) and has Lilibell on additional chinese herbs to hopefully help her luxting patella, whereas our old vet never even thought to do this.

Just a helpful thought!

Sending Extra Waggles & Chi kisses to Mona,

I'm so sorry! Mona has had my prayers and will continue to have them.

One good thing to remember is that medicine is advancing all the time so hopefully she won't have to suffer like Samantha did.

Whatever happens, I know you'll do all you can to care for her and give her the best life you can.

Teddy said...

We'll say a little prayer that you and Mona can battle this Cushings, and that Mona can have a comfortable life.
