ATDR at the 2011 Reliant Dog Show

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there." ~Indira Gandhi

We didn't get to go to the dog show this year, but our friends made sure we got see what a wonderful job ATDR did raising funds to help rescue more pups in need, take care of the more than 100 we have right now and show off some of the pups available for adoption.

ENJOY!!!

There were several dogs that worked the kissing booth in my, Mona's, place. They did a great job but Aunt Judy said they all missed me and Mommy. Me because I kiss so good and Mommy cause she knows how to draw the crowd over. Oh well there's always next year.

Mazie--Aunt Judy's current foster

Sara Lee -- also known now as Banana Cupcake

Sneeky

Remember Sara Lee? She is the little girl, named in Mommy's honor on her birthday, that we first introduced on our Jan 18th post. She had surgery on her back, fought to walk again and got adopted by a lady named Jenny, whose picture you will see later in this post with another of her dogs. Sara Lee came and worked the kissing booth to help raise money too. She is now called Banana Cupcake.

This picture was taken while she worked in the kissing booth with 2 very special volunteers, Tami and her husband Byron.
Sara Lee's Mom, Jenny, lives close to them near Austin and they have all become very close. In April, their sweet girl, Ticker, died without warning. Mommy knows Tinker was a very special girl and she will be doing a tribute post to Tinker soon. Mommy prays everyday for them because it has been very hard on them.

ATDR had lots of items to sell to benefit our rescue, so we just wanted to show you some stuff. Everything except the T-shirts were made by Aunt Judy & Diana.

Of course there were lots of fosters there during the 4 day event, here are just a few hanging out together. There is always one special dog, that catches the eye. This one caught Mommy's. She was brought to the dog show by her rescuer. She was found locked in a garage after her owners deserted her.

Of course, ya gotta have volunteers to pull something this big off, so here are just a few. Mommy does know everybody. We had lots of support this year including a bunch of kids. Gotta start them off while their young.

Jenny & Kiwi

Jenny is Sara Lee's Mommy. Here she is handling 6 doggies. How does she do that?

Aunt Brinda & Lillah, her foster

Looks like we missed a great one but there are other events coming up so you might see me kissing yet but Aunt Judy says I got competition now. Mazie turned out to be a real trooper!!

Wow, loved seeing all the doggies and the kindhearted people.

I'm so glad Banana Cupcake has a wonderful home.

Sorry to hear about Tinker. I'm glad you will be doing a tribute post.

Well, that pretty girl found locked in a garage caught my eye too. The Mommy and me must be on the same page. I'm so glad she is happy and loved now.

Love, Cupcake
