1 Day Until My Gotcha Day

(copied from our first post with pictures in 2005)

HI friends,

100 years ago when Mommy graduated from high school and was still a spring chicken, she wondered how anybody would want to live past 60. "Strange Woman" my Mommy is but I've told you that before. Well now she's 62 and she knows why. Yesterday Mommy got her copy of the "Campus Cub" which is a newsletter that comes out 4 times a year from her old high school. It had an article that was titled "Twenty Senior Signs: Do Any Apply to You?". Yep the old girl is getting old because a lot of them she could identify with. I will comment after the ones the show that Mommy is now a senior citizen. Try it on your peeps and see how they do.

1. What used to be freckles are now liver spots. "Poor Mommy, shes got lots of them."

2. Everybody whispers. "Not to my Mommy, shes hard of hearing so they gots to shout."

3. Now that your husband has retired you'd give anything if he'd go out and find a job.

4. Your husband sleeps better on a recliner with the TV blaring then he does in bed. It's called pre-sleep. "This would not be a problem, Mommy does that every night with me in her lap sleeping too."

5. Who wants to wear 3" heels anyway.

6. You forget names but it's OK because other people forget they even know you. "Not my Mommy, she has a mind like an elephant."

7. The last two outfits you wore had chili stains on them. "Have you ever seen Mommy eat?"

8. You ask your husband or friend how your outfit looks and they tell you the truth.

9. The five pounds you wanted lose is now 15 pounds and you know you have a better chance of losing your keys than 15 pounds. "I can't tell you how many times she's lost her car keys......enough said."

10. You realize you're never going to be really good at anything, especially golf.

11. Your husband is counting on you to remember things you don't remember.

12. The things you cared to do, you don't care to do but care that you don't care to do them anymore. "Yep, that's Mommy!!"

13. You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" a;d "OFF" switch. "Why do you think our computer is down so much."

14. You remember when GOOGLE, ipod, email, modern were unheard of and a mouse was something that made you climb the table.

15. You use more four-letter words like "what?" "when?" ???

16. Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear anymore.

17. Your husband has a night out with the guys but he's home by 9:00 pm. Next week it will be 8:30 pm. "Mommy don't got no husband, shes an old maid.

18. You read 100 pages into a book before you realize you've read it. "The mind is a terrible thing to lose and Mommy is way gone."

19. Notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?

20. Your lipstick bleeds. Your mascara clumps and your eyebrow are disappearing. You don't have hair under your arms and very little on your legs but your chin needs to be plucked daily.

Oops, guess Mommy is old as dirt. OK, now lets see how your peeps do.

Love kisses and {{huggies}}} to all........Mona and a very old Mommy too!!

Hehehe. Momma especially liked 14, 18, and 20. She is always lecturing the youngsters at work about "back before the internet" and whatnot. I am sure they just think she is a dotty old hen.
