MY LABOR DAY TRIP -- PART 1

QUOTE OF THE DAY: (courtesy of Frankie Furter)

"He hath a share of man's intelligence, but no share of man's falsehood."
--- Sir Walter Scott

Hi dear friends,

My goodness but we had a wonderful time in the country. So much to do and so little time. Three days is just not enough time when your having so much fun.
I have so many pictures to share. Mommy said we are gonna have to do at least four post cover it all. So here goes.

I was so excited Saturday morning, we was on the road by 8:00 am but Mommy had to stop and get gave gas. I just don't understand why she couldn't get it Friday night, so we really didn't get get on Beltway 8, until almost 8:15 am.
Mommy says I have no patience at all. All I know is I could have got to my honey, Sammy, 15 minutes earlier if she'd bought gas Friday night. I thought if I helped her drive it might help get us there sooner but even though I was in the driver's seat, she said NO.

This, as you all know is my Sammy!

We have 3 videos to share with all of you tonight and some pictures that relate to each video. This first pic is of me and all my friends. Can you guess what we us doing in this picture?

Even though I love my Sammy something fierce, I have to say that Jake, Dachsies Rule's, cousin is very special to me. If you look at my brother, Jacks's picture on my side bar, Jake is the spitting image of him. Jake runs like lighting as you will see on some of the videos over the next few days just like Jacks used to. This trip he was so entertaining. Let me tell you a little something about Jake.
He would stay outside 24/7 if he could. His life besides running like a rabbit and chasing tennis balls is squirrel hunting. If he sees a squirrel run up a tree he will stay under that tree for hours. Saturday afternoon he did just that. We were all in the backyard, with Mommy watching us, when Jake saw a squirrel run up a tree and sounded the alert. Mommy kept telling Jake she saw the squirrel jump to another tree but that didn't matter.

For all you girls, who have shown an interest in Jake. Here he is. But I warn you girls.......ya gotta be fast to keep up with him.

Jake looking........

Still looking up that tree.......

and me and Jake sniffing around trying to track that critter.

There was lots of cow dogs all over the place of course and it all of us dachsies responsibility to try and chase them away. It's been awhile since we post any pictures and something exciting happened here are a few pictures.

The first two pictures are of the big Daddy bull. Nobody messes with him but that doesn't mean we don't bark at him. He was just ignoring us and you gotta enlarge them to see how big he is. Of course he was on one side of the fence and we were on the other.

These cow dogs were grazing in a field on the other side from where the bull was.

There is a video of this cow and us and you gotta see what I did by myself.

Same cow....in motion.

That's gonna be it for tonight except for the videos. There was gonna be lots more pictures of my friends but Mommy got some really bad news as we were coming home last night and didn't get to stay home with me today and work on a post like we had planned. She gotta got to work tomorrow, so tomorrow we'll try to do better after she gets off work.

This video is of all of us on the porch. Listen carefully cause Mommy is gonna tell you who everybody is. Have you guessed what we was doing yet?

This video me and the cow, with a little help from my friends. Bet that cow don't mess with me again.

This video is of Jake. We gave up after a few minutes but not Jake.
See ya later......Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all....Mona

LOVE all of the pictures! And Frankie's picture is very nice. Seeing you guys keeping those cows under control reminded me of that dachshund Sprint commercial where he asks for a herd of oxen but gets a herd of dachshunds. lol.

Mona ,what a lovely weekend you had. I love seeing all your friends, especially Jake. You were very brave to bark at the cowdogs, they are big and scary to me. How is Jake doing? He is one handsome boy.
