"I have always thought of a dog lover as a DOG who was in love with another dog."
~~ James Thurber

Hi friends,

I told Mommy tonight when we was thinking about who to spotlight, that we just had to have a hamster friend, so we asked Bae Bae if he had a picture and he said no but his Mommy found one of angel Girl Girl. It's not a real flower but it sure is cute and Girl Girl looks like I always remember her.

I am so excited, I feel like dancing. Bet you can guess why!!! Tomorrow we are going on another Dachsie play date to Aunt Judy's. She is still puppy sitting Mikey and Belle until Wednesday and fostering Brooklyn, so Mommy decided, since she didn't get to play with them much last weekend, we'd just have to go visiting tomorrow. Just who does she think she is kidding....I saw the proof and so did you that that wasn't the truth. Meredith is coming with her George, Becky is bringing Bradley and of course Aunt Judy's 3 boys and a few new fosters will be there too. Now you see why I feel like dancing?
Warning....there are pictures at the bottom of this post that some folks might not want to see so if so proceed with caution. There is no blood and guts but it is very sad that any dog should be in this condition, but there is hope for brother Jacks was in the same condition when he was thrown into a dumpster and found by a sanitation worked and we all know how handsome he turned out to be.

Dachshund Rescue Of Houston DISCLAIMER - These pictures are not pleasant.

New rescue today from the city shelter - please meet Steve. Steve is a black & tan (I know, hard to believe when you see the pics) tweenie who could stand to put on a couple of pounds. He is heart worm negative, but has a terrible case of mange. He also has a previously broken pelvis that did not receive medical attention and healed improperly

Before we give you Steve's bio and pictures...and one of Jacks...look what Mommy had done after work today. She got her nails done. Mommy has bitten her nails for all of her 61 years, she was probably chewing her nails in the womb before she came out. Her hands are old and wrinkled so don't look to close to them but look at her nails. She did them because Bradley and George love for Mommy to scratch their bellies. Notice, I said she did it for Bradley and George....I haven't has a good belly rub since she chewed the last fake ones off.

Sorry I'm not available for adoption yet. I will be ready in September.

Tweenie (13-17 lbs.)
No Young Children

I am a naked dachshund. I gave my transporter kisses and talked to her the whole way from the shelter to DRoH's vet to show how good of a boy I am. I know when I have been given a second chance at life!! I am hear worm negative but have mange and will be given medical attention to get rid of it.
Please follow my progress and watch my hair grow back with the wonderful care DROH is giving me. Last Updated: 08/05/2009

DROH is now on Face Book and Steve's story and others are updated there.
Mommy is working on getting a Face Book logo for DROH on my bloggie so you can just follow from here.

This is Steve. These pictures were taken directly from Face Book. They are not on the website. These pictures were taken when he was picked up from the shelter.

Mommy here....not to worry. Steve is in good hands now, he is not contagious and in no time at all he will look like my little boy Jacks, who looked just like him when he was rescued.

Gotta go now. The sooner we get to sleep, the sooner I can start dancing.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all..........Mona
