JODY AND FINDE

Hi my friends,

It has been a very beautiful Spring weekend
here in Texas & me and the Mommy have had a wonderful time together.
Yesterday morning we went to Mommy's friend's florist shop. The Mommy's gift to a girl she works with is going to be the flowers for her wedding. John used to be engaged to the Mommy 100 years ago but even thought they never got married, they are still best friends. He even gave my Mommy these flowers and guess what!! I got to sniff on them all me wanted because there was no bees in sight.
Then we went to one of the Mommy's boss's yard sale. Of course I was a hit with Neil. He gots a bunch of kitty cats but I wasn't scared of them at all because my good cat friend JB taught me on our Great Adventure that we can all get along if we love each other and have a common goal if life. I just love JB!! Neil used to have a couple of doggies but they have all gone to the Rainbow Bridge to see my sister, Samantha, so he gave the Mommy all their stuff for DROH. I just love NEIL!!
Then we went to Porter to visit with Jody at Tina & Chris's house. You remember Jody, the little chocolate doxie, Chris found at the end of a dirt road that was so sick, and she turned him into DROH with a check for $800.00 to treat him and then a month later decided to adopt him? It was such a happy ending. It still is but now Jody needs every body's prayers and Chris needs a bunch of encouragement right now. Last Wednesday, Jody started limping and then later started dragging his hinny. Chris took him to the Vet yesterday and he has some back problems. Chris is taking him to a specialist tomorrow and her Vet said he will probably need a spinal tap and a mylogram to determine how bad the injury is. Based on what the specialist says, if Jody has to have surgery they will take him to Texas A & M. My sister Samantha went there once and the Mommy said it's the best. He looked great me and me got to play with him but not wrestle, mostly we just took a nap together.....I was honored he let me into his cage with him. I just love Jody!! Chris & the Mommy talked for a long time about how us dachshunds do have problems with our backs but how most of the time we don't have to have surgery. The Mommy even took Chris over to Snickers blog to use as an example of how a doggie who is loved can overcome any obstacle. Chris felt much better after that. I just love SNICKERS!!

NOW SOME GOOD NEWS.....meet Finde!!!

We just can't wait any longer, so even though these aren't the best pictures, they are the only ones we got. Here is her story.
The Mommy got a call from her manicurist saying that a friend of hers' had a 1 year old baby and her husband didn't want a dog around it anymore and wasn't being very nice about it. Finde is a mix--part cooker spaniel/part dachshund. She has a cooker spaniel face and ears but a dachshund body. After giving the husband a lecture about being mean to a harmless animal and using the excuse of a new baby (we think he was hitting her) the Mommy agreed to get in contact with DROH. Two of the vet's offices where we board our dogs that don't have fosters have puppies with PARVO and are not taking any boarders in because PARVO is very contagious. So the Mommy got busy & started pleading where she works with to see if somebody would take Finde. You remember, Harley, my little dashie (girl) friend that came to my birthday party? Well to make a long story short.....her Mommy, Pam, fell in love with Finde and now she has a new home, a doggie sister,a human sister, a new Daddy and Mommy. ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING!!!

FINDE AND PAM AT THE EXCHANGE

Wow, me bet ya didn't think this post was ever going to end but ya know how it goes....the Mommy never knows when to quit.
Please keep JODY in your thoughts & prayers.
Love you all lots & lots..........Mona

Hi Mona - It's me again!

Mom is still thinking about taking me to the doggie fair next weekend. She says I "don't behave well" in the car. The nerve! But I am gonna keep begging her cause I really wanna see you!!

We are hoping the best for your friend.

And mom just loves your comment of "older than dirt." That made her day. She's still sending out those resume things.
