4th of July Flowers of the USA and Father's Day Smiley Boxes

Update ....

We have 2 winners as of 8:45 PM today.

There were many guesses that it was the pine cone from Maine but that doesn't count because as stated under ~~Lesson learned ~~ it is a state floral emblem.

The 1st winner is The Idaha Pug Ranch because of this comment:

Thank you for the beautiful smile boxes. We think it is South Dakota - there is a bee on the flower.

Our 2nd winner is Cupcake who guessed something our Doofus Mommy never even saw on the Connecticut State Flower. It is only fair that his favorite rescue group gets a donation too.
Here was his comment:

My second guess is that on the Mountain Laurel Blossoms, there is a spider!

Love, Cupcake
Now as there is a possibility the Doofus might have missed another insect on one of the other flowers, if you find one, please, let us know and upon verification your favorite rescue group will receive a donation as well.

 QUOTE OF THE DAY:

We will always be proud.
 We will always be prepared,
so we will always be free."

Dearest friends,

As anyone who has ever followed this blog knows, our Mommy loves flowers, even though everything she tries to grow bites the dust. Last year after my brother, Weenie died, Dr Briles and his staff sent Mommy this potted plant..........

Can you guess what Weenie's plant is?
Mommy knew it would die, if she kept it, so she gave it to Bentley's mom because she has a green thumb and her yard is like a Garden of Eden and she knew we could see it whenever we visited. Their entire front yard is full of Mommy's most favorite flower, the hibiscus, in all kinds of glorious colors. When GOD created the earth he gave us the beauty of flowers. Right after Weenie died, Mommy was so brokenhearted and nothing could snap her out of it until she got the plant from Dr Briles and realized that in time it would blossom into a thing of beauty like our dear Weenie was.  Back in July 2013, Mommy started what turned out to be a year long process of learning the flowers of each state in the USA and posting them here, off and on through the year. It was a labor of love and was very therapeutic. Here is the finished project.

 ~~Lesson learned~~
There is only 1 state that does not have an official flower only a state floral emblem. Can you guess which one before you view the Smilebox?

I loved the Father's Day Smilebox. It was so great to see everyone!

I loved the State Flowers also. My guess for the one that is different is the Poppy's in California. It was the only picture with water.

Love, Cupcake

OK, my third guess is that the picture of the beautiful Bluebonnets is the only picture showing an entire field of flowers.

We wanted to guess something different than pine cone, so we are gonna guess there is a spelling error in Pennsylvania's flower Mountain Laurel?

Yups, Maine's Pine Cone and Tassel isn't a flower, it's a seed pod!
I loved your smilebox!! The fireworks were a FABulous background!!
Have a Happy Fourth of July guys!
And stay safe and calm! And eat lots of tube steaks! Did someone say tube steaks??? Yes please!!! And some of those pawsome lookin' cookies!!!!
I'll be back for seconds...

Blogger ate our second comment. We watched the Fathers Day smilebox, thanks fur puttin it together.

Now we would like to take a second guess on the flower. We think Sunflower is different because it has the word "flower" in its name.

Thanks for stopping by our blog on Ernie's Pirate Celebration Day! As you can tell Momma is not always the quickest at responding. But we would love to invite YOU over for after opera picnic leftovers...momma and dad go every Saturday in July and the White Dog Army gets to eat their picnic leftovers when they get home...tonight they made salmon, and turkey avocado wraps, and spanakopita and cheesecake with peaches.
