"Love is when the other person's happiness is more important than your own."
-- H Jackson Brown, Jr.

Happy 4th of July to all my dear friends,

We are so excited to start reading your name stories. What a great game Frankie Furtur came up with it. I don't really have much of a story to tell but Mommy said we need to tell what we do know.

Ramona 2005

Mona 2010

I was adopted from DROH by my Mommy in February 2005 and it was the first day of my new life. I was found dodging traffic during a thunderstorm, in Houston, when I was very little, maybe less than 6 months old, but nobody really know for sure because I was dumped on the side of the road with no tags or anything.

The DROH lady that found me named me Romona and I stayed with her for over a year. When I had almost given up hope of ever finding a forever home, Mommy came looking for a dachshund, that looked nothing like her sweet Samantha, who had just left for the bridge. She adopted me sight unseen. She didn't even know what a wirehair dachshund looked like, my picture was never posted on the DROH website. But when Uncle Ron brought me for her to met, it was love at first sight. "Only 1 look was all I needed, Ramona was my girl."

Mommy thought that Ramona was too formal, but since I already knew my name, she shortened it to Mona. I answer to any name Mommy calls me, even when she forgets and calls me Samantha. My favorite is when she calls me Bobbitt! Some of the other names are Baby Girl, Mona Mi, Moaners and Fuzzie Butt. I don't care what she calls me just so she calls me!

Not much of a story, but it's all I got. The important thing is that I am with my Mommy and she loves me dearly.

Love, kisses & {{{huggies}}} to all.......Mona

Happy July 4th everybody!! Happy Birthday America!!

How fun - we didn't know you were a Ramona - Mom loves that name because Ramona is one of her favorite storybook characters. Ramona the Brave, Ramona the Pest, etc. We also like your nickname of Bobbitt - very cute.

Fun playing the Name Game.

Happy Fourth.
