Mona's Mommy here........
Mona is sleeping so I have decided to share the 10 Canine Commandments with all of your parents along with pictures of two things, besides dogs, that I love the most in life. This post is dedicated to the little dog that we all love...........
who made it possible for our fur kids to have the most exciting night of their lives. Mona tells me their was a lot of love going on that night, at least there was for Mona and her true love, Tiger.
There are so many evil people in the world that treat dogs like trash and it angers me beyond words. The Michael Vicks of this world will get theirs when they have to answer to GOD, of that I am sure but today as I sit here watching my little girl sleeping in her day bed beside me it seemed like a good time to share a dogs ten commandments. Special thanks to Twix's Mom, for allowing me use her gorgeous flower and butterfly pictures. It doesn't surprise me that she loves butterflies, because she, after all, does have a little cupid angel with wings of her VERY own.
1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful to me. Remember that before you buy me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial to my well being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I only have you.
5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words. I understand your voice when it's speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it.
7. Remember before you hit me, I have teeth that could easily crush the bones of your hand, but I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being un-cooperative, obstinate or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, or I've been out in the sun too long, or my heart is getting tired and weak.
9. Take care of me when I get old. You will grow old too.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say "I can't bear to watch it", or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there.
I cry as I type this, just like I do every time I read it, and it makes me want to wrap Mona or any dog tight in my arms and take away any pain they might have. I am blessed that God has given me these special creatures to bring joy to my life and I know that we all feel this way or we wouldn't be blogging about how much they mean to us.Now if we could just convince the whole world to follow these rules too.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL & THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE SUPPORT.

Hi there, I stumbled onto your blog through Twink's blog. I just have a very soft spot in my heart for Dachsund's and your Mona is a cutie!
I love this post about the 10 Commandments and yes, it made me cry too. I have never realized the special love that one can have for a dog until Chewy & Lilibell came into my life. They are my life and my everything! It makes my heart hurt to see other poor dogs being abused or just used as puppy breeding machines. I thank God every day that Chewy & Lilibell have a loving home with me and my significant other!
You and Mona seem like two very special people/pup and I will enjoy following your blog!
