A NEW DACSHUND AND A FANTASTIC DAY

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"His name is not wild dog anymore, but the first friend, because he will be or friend for always and always and always."

-- Rudyard Kipling

Hi friends!!

It has been a glorious day! A little chilly this morning but then it happened. Something we haven't seen in forever. The sun came out and clear blue sky!! Mommy & I have been outside most of the day, us playing with Smokey, a new playmate puppy for me & not a dachshund. You have to wait until tomorrow to see him and wonder what kind of doggie HE is. But first!

Can you identify this animal?

How about this one?

Notice the resemblance?

This sweetheart is Dotty,a wire hair dachshund, not a raccoon, found wandering the streets in League City with Danny a red smooth hair, that looks just like Mommy's special boy, George.

Aunt Judy rescued them and now they are safe and sound with DROH.

Aunt Judy sent Mommy these pictures (more pictures of Danny tomorrow) with a note that said George and Mona lookalikes. That made Mommy think that now we have another wire hair friend, that's just as gorgeous as my friend, Matilda.

So what do you think? Aren't we all the cutest?

Dotty

Now my day in the sunshine and dry grass!!

"Mommy!! You mean your really staying home with me, all day? Look me straight in the eyes when you say yes and remember that the eyes never lie."

Then Mommy said she had a suprise for me. A neighborhood puppy for me to play with, named Smokey. He is a cute little fella and Mommy says he is the cutest puppy, besides a dachshund, that shes ever seen. Pictures of Smokey and his human Dad will be posted tomorrow, I promise.

Of course, before my day started, I had to check the perimeter to make sure everything was just right.

Besides barking, snoopervising and sniffing around looking for buried treats, can ya guess what else I was doing.

Yep! My most favorite thing to do in the world. Roaching!! Mommy laughed and laughed and laughed. It was so nice to see Mommy laughing and having such a good time but later she said "Guess who's taking a bath tonight?" and I said "Why Mommy? I'm not dirty!" and she said "We are not going to bed with all that grass in your hair." Just like that, case closed.

Then I ended the afternoon in trouble. Mommy had water outside for me but I wanted a taste of her "Denny's 4 berry soda" and when she put it down, I saw my chance.

Yummylicious!!!

I was already in trouble so what the heck.

OK....on last thing before I gotta go take a bath.

Just when I thought Mommy was all over her crying fits over missing my brothers and Samantha being at the bridge, she saw this creature....a simple little lizard. Why did she break down when she saw it crawl out of a crack in the garage on her way to work the other morning? Samantha's greatest passion is life was chasing and catching lizards. She didn't eat them, she just crunched them to death and them brought them to Mommy. So what happened then? She sat in the car for 20 minutes crying. She was late for work and it counts as tardiness occurrence. "Silly Mommy!!"

Love, kisses & {{{huggies}}} to all...Mona

So happy those 2 pups are now safe with the rescue. I hope they find great new homes of their own very soon.

Sorry your mommy was sad and was late to work, that just means you have to give her some extra kisses.

You are silly rolling in the grass. I guess grass is better than mud. We were outside playing today and I have mud all over my belly!

Hi, my wire hair friends, Mona and raccoon Dotty!
Oh why were you wandering the street? I hope Dotty and Danny find happy homes soon.

Sometimes the humans just let their brains play tricks on them and then they cry even though us doggies know that our friends over the Rainbow Bridge do not want us to shed tears for them. Best to ride it out and give her snuggles.

Give your Mom lots of kissies - she'll feel better. My Mom gets sad like that too, sometimes, and the best thing I can do is get all 50 lbs of me in her lap and kiss her until she feels better.

Those pups are cute Mona..

Sometimes I just wish all pups (kitties, etc) can have their own loving forever home where they will be loved and kept safe and their bellies full.

Our mom is TOTALLY afraid of lizards and ran away when she saw the pic.. LOL...

Love you heaps!!

We can't wait to meet your new furiend And don't worry about Mommy crying about that lizard. It is those memories that made Samantha so special and that helps keep her alive for Mom. Glad the two pups are safe now. And sorry about the bath but you must have had lots of fun roaching.

Hi Mona
We're so glad DROH could save those great doxies.
Hope your mom is feeling happier today.

All of our snow had melted and mom didn't take to many pictures of us this winter. Penny doesn't like the cold.
This is about the best snow picture we have http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LJ-pkWyQR9U/S3wzTedzREI/AAAAAAAACq0/D_xlgoAljqI/s1600-h/Collar+Ruffle+044.jpg
You could use it if you wish.
